November 16, 2009: We did it! We did it together!

post by Jamie

Hi folks! You may be fans of us, but we have a not-so-secret to share with you: we’re even bigger fans of you!

Thanks to all the hard work of our fans and friends and the thousands upon thousands of dollars in wasted office work, Bland Hack won the Atom.com Showdown! We’re mega-totes stoked at the win, but we’d like to bow to our competitors, Funny Cakes (they put up a helluva fight!).

In other news, I just stumbled upon these guys last night, Magic Hugs. They’re totally hilarious and truly on the same wavelength as BH. My personal fave was the George Washington Lincoln ad, which was creepily similar to some vids we worked on with Twinhead. Kudos to great minds, check them out!

Thanks again to those who took the time to vote! You’re super cute and your ass looks great in those jeans, btw.

October 6, 2009: Bland Hack sticks it to the man

Bad news, loyal Bland Hackers!  Jamie and I are thinking about calling it quits.  You see, Bill O’Reilly recently featured our short, Texting While Walking, as one of his dumbest things of the week (well, it was actually chosen by correspondent Juliet Huddy).  As you can imagine, like any other 20-somethings, we love and respect Bill O’Reilly and watch the O’Reilly Factor religiously every night at 8, and then the replays at 11 and 5 in the morning.  So you can imagine how crushed we were when we saw this:

Holy shit, it’s been a frenzied few days since we posted our Texting While Walking PSA. The video’s well on it’s way to 2,000 4,000 thousands of views on YouTube, and we’re featured today under CollegeHumor.com’s videos! We also got reposted by some guy on Break.com, where our parody reached a mind-boggling 30,000 views and is steadily climbing. Crazy!

Jules and I are pinching ourselves over all of this attention and feedback; it’s been really cool having so many people see our work! We’ll keep you updated with the exciting news as it comes.

UPDATE: The good folks at Break.com have properly credited us for the video and it’s just passed 100,000 views. Wow!

Thanks!
